MACHINES FOR PEOPLE - 2026

Designed and built a working pantograph mill from scratch.

For my senior capstone project, I decided to tackle creating a milling machine from scratch. This style of milling machine is a pantograph mill, which instead of working from a blueprint or machine code, works off a physical template. The operator traces the template with one head and the cutting head mimics that movement at a smaller scale, transferring the form of the template into the workpiece.

This project was a large undertaking, and involved CNC routing, custom parts, mechanical assemblies, and electronic integration. All these aspects needed to be combined into a machine that was reliable, rigid, and easy to use.
